Allegheny West Provisional Conference News!

By Jeff Greenway

June 15, 2023

The Allegheny West Provisional Conference is excited to report we anticipate having 450-550 churches by the end of 2023. We invite all churches who have yet to affiliate to consider joining our movement. Our goal is to move forward as like-minded, warm-hearted, Spirit-filled, Jesus-loving, evangelical, orthodox Wesleyan Christians committed to offering the whole Gospel to the whole world. You can find out more about the Allegheny West Conference at our website which is listed at the end of this post.

The process of disaffiliation has been difficult for churches—and even more difficult for clergy. As a result, we have several churches that have come into the Global Methodist without their pastors—who are in need of full-time or part-time pastoral leadership. I’m working with Presiding Elders across our new Annual Conference to help churches and pastors find each other during this season of change and transition. I write today to ask the follow persons if they are interested and willing to serve:

  • Are there persons who came into the GMC in retired status who are willing to serve full or part-time?

  • Are there persons who are still in our former denomination because their church did not disaffiliate who would like to come into the GMC and serve full or part-time?

  • Are there retired UMC pastors who would be willing to join the GMC and serve full or part-time?

  • Are their seminary students or candidates for ministry who are willing to serve full or part-time in the GMC?

  • Are there ordained clergy from another denomination who are willing to join or serve full or part-time in the GMC?

  • Are their Certified Lay Ministers who would like to provide spiritual leadership and weekly preaching on a full or part-time basis?

If you are interested in having a further conversation about these possibilities, please feel free to contact me at jgreenway@reycc.com or Greg Stover at gstover51@gmail.com. You can also apply as a church or clergy on our conference website:

Please know that any text in blue are links to the information source or greater detail. Also, we ask that you share, comment and like any and all posts to continue to help spread the word. We find that most UMC members know little to nothing about the current and future of the UMC. Please decide now to be heard before it is too late! Join the Wesleyan Covenant Association NOW! EOWCA values your comments and support. Thank you!
