AN INVITATION TO THE WCA CLERGY AND LAITY GATHERING ON MONDAY MAY 6 FROM THE DESK OF CHET HARRIS

The intent of the gathering on May 6 is to inspire and inform all attendees to the ministry calling of the WCA within the United Methodist Church. The WCA desires to maintain our historic connection and respect for the biblical doctrines expressed in the Apostle and Nicene Creeds. We also believe the Church is called to the role of ‘prophet’ counseling the people of God to influence and change the culture, not to adjust our beliefs (worldview) to the ebb and flow of the culture. The insistence of accepting the LGBTQI plus lifestyle is an example of embracing the current worldview culture which requires the Church to adjust myriad historic beliefs/doctrines. We believe conforming betrays our high calling to transform the world by the power, grace, and love of a redemptive Savior. It is important to state our love for the LGBTQI plus community is not compromised by our belief that such a lifestyle is simply not God’s creative choice for humanity. Our Church doors as well as our hearts remain open and welcoming to all people. I encourage you to attend the May 6 gathering and join us in worship, prayer, and the welcoming of the Holy Spirit as our counselor through the teachings of the presenters. After the gathering I personally invite you to contact me if you have any questions or simply need to share what is on your heart.
