Rev. Stephanie Greenwald and Asbury UMC Worship Band to Lead WCA’s Fourth Global Gathering
The Wesleyan Covenant Association (WCA) is pleased to announce the Rev. Stephanie Greenwald will host its program and the Asbury United Methodist Church’s Worship Band will lead worship at Transformed, its Fourth Global Gathering at Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
“Stephanie has truly been a Godsend to our church,” said the Rev. D. A. Bennett, Senior Pastor at St. Andrew’s Community United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where Greenwald has served as its associate pastor for two years. “Among her many contributions, she has helped us expand our digital footprint with online worship, Bible study, and a podcast for discipleship formation. Beyond the local church, Stephanie serves on the executive council of our WCA Oklahoma Regional Chapter. She is a joyful, passionate and faithful servant, and I’m confident we will all appreciate her leadership at the Global Gathering.”
Greenwald earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. She also serves on the executive board of Light Up the Dark, a nonprofit helping people struggling with addiction and abuse. She is also a frequent public speaker, sharing her faith with audiences of all ages in a way that’s relatable and applicable to their everyday lives.
The Asbury UM Church Worship Band regularly leads worship with a blend of standards hymns and contemporary music. Its band members are Kyle Broadhurst, Angie Cockrell, Justin Hare, Jon Parris, Noah Roberts, Tim Tibbles, Steven White, and Spencer Wideman.
“We’re thrilled to have Stephanie and the Asbury UM Church Worship band lead us through a day of worship, learning, and vision casting for the future,” said the Rev. Keith Boyette, President of the WCA. “We’re confident these dedicated servants will greatly enrich our time together as we prepare for what God has in store for all of us.”
